Keep practice close to the classroom.
Students can record the topic, skill, date and length of a study session. That makes it easier to talk about the balance between reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary.
A personal vocabulary collection stores a word, translation and optional example. Review asks whether the learner remembered it, then adjusts when it becomes due again. Teachers can use a progress conversation to encourage useful practice without treating activity counts as a complete assessment.

Look at attendance and practice patterns. Ask about obstacles before interpreting a quiet week as lack of effort.

Choose a specific action, such as retelling a familiar story using three sequencing expressions. Set a review point in the next lesson.
